Maurine Stonewall, 79, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Iowa Methodist Hospital. Public graveside services for Maurine will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 31, 2014, at Riverside cemetery, with Pastor Craig Marshall officiating. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Maurine and her family. Born Maurine Stonewall on June 14, 1934, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Oscar and Jeanette (Knudson) Stonewall. She was raised and educated in the Marshalltown School District, graduating from Marshalltown High School. Maurine was employed for a government agency for many years. She had a passion for attending musicals and plays but her main passion was traveling. Maurine was blessed to travel to Australia, Russia, China, Europe many times, and Norway. Maurine and her family actually got to travel on the Queen Mary to Norway. She is preceded in death by her parents.
