Maurine Sue Worley, 85, of the Villa del Sol, died Friday morning, April 23rd, at the MMSC. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 26th, at St. Marys Catholic Church with Fr. Jim Miller officiating. She will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Cemetery at Rhodes. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service to follow. A memorial fund is being established. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Ph 641-844-1234. Born Maurine Helen Sue Malloy on January 13th, 1925, in Rhodes, she was the daughter of Thomas B. and Loretta (Goodman) Malloy. She graduated from the Rhodes High School and later the Waterloo Beauty School. She was united in marriage to George Worley, on May 23, 1946, in State Center. Following their marriage the couple has always lived in Marshalltown. In her early married life she was a beauty operator .Sue and her sister Grace had a painting and wallpaper business which they operated for 25 years. Sue was a member of St Marys Parish and The Altar and Rosary Society. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids, great-grandkids, and her friends. She was a hard working woman who was always ready to help others. She enjoyed the outdoors, loved watching the birds, going to ball games and working in her yard. Her family treasures the memories of the wonderful Sunday dinners she prepared every week. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Ellen (Sherm) Slifer of Marshalltown, Ann (Clayton) Williams of Marshalltown, Brian (Barb) Worley of Cedar Rapids, Joe Worley of Melbourne and Lynne (Tim) Bear of Melbourne, 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Elizabeth Malloy of Rhodes, brother-in-law Stanley Randall of Melbourne, sister-in-law Rose Malloy in Florida and several nieces and nephews. In death she has rejoined her parents, her husband George, Sisters Maggie Riemenschneider, Grace Skinner, Jeanne Randall and Lorraine Malloy, Brothers Ray and Leo Malloy, one niece and several nephews.
