Max Edward Nelson, Sr., 90, of Marshalltown, passed away Thursday morning, May, 7, 2020, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines. A visitiation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Due to mandates from Governor Kim Reynolds and the Iowa Department of Public Health visitation is considered a social gathering and must have no more than 10 people in the building at any given time. Please remain in vehicles until ushered into the building by a Mitchell Family Funeral Home staff member. Survivors include his children, Carla (Jon) Zillmer and Max (Vicki) Nelson, Jr; six grandchildren: Carl Nelson, Danielle Resendez, Megan Nelson, Melissa Nelson, Michayla Nelson and Melanie Nelson; step grandchildren, Tyler Zillmer and Brittany Lindahl; great grandchildren: AnnaMae Avis-Nelson, Hunter Purdue, Xavier Lavender, Xander Lavender, Dayne Seymour, Brayden Nelson, Kaiden Kluck, Ashlyn Kluck, Gatlin Kluck, Oscar Resendez and Jayden Avalos; two step great grandchildren, Kiara Lindahl and William Lindahl; and two brothers, Don Nelson and Earl Nelson.
