Maxine Leonard

Maxine Beulah Leonard, 79, of Marshalltown passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. Memorial services for Maxine will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the Iowa River Hospice Home. Maxine Holst was born on February 19, 1935, to Otto and Helen Holst in Belle Plaine, Iowa. Maxine had been employed at Grandview Heights doing their laundry services. Maxine enjoyed playing Bingo and Farkle. She also enjoyed to people watch and drink her coffee. Above all else, she enjoyed the time she got to spend with her grandchildren. Left to cherish Maxines memory are her children: Everett (Robin) Leonard of Garwin, Allan Leonard of Garwin, and Jeff (Peggy) Leonard of Marshalltown. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and her sister, Viola Keppion of Vinton, Iowa. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Helen; sisters, Dora Jack and Zola Holst; brothers, John Holst and Mike Holst; and her grandson, John Leonard.
