PLEASE NOTE DATE OF SERVICE.... Maxine Emily Randall, 93, of Marshalltown, died late Friday night, October 4th, at the Southridge Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 19th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one-hour prior to the services. A luncheon will follow the burial. Born Maxine Emily Van DeWalle in Gladstone, Iowa, on August 27th, 1920, she was the daughter of Fred and Carolyn (Postalka) Van DeWalle. She attended school in Vining and graduated from the Toledo High School in 1937. On April 5th, 1941, she was united in marriage to Lester Bud Randall. They were blessed with two children, Claudia and Bruce. Maxine was employed at Central Iowa Telephone in Tama and Toledo, Montgomery Wards in Marshalltown, the medical/surgical clinic in Marshalltown and most recently the Marshalltown Water Works until retiring in 1982. She was a dedicated member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for 65 + years, a 59 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Garden Club, the Tomorrow Club and the First United Methodist Church. She will be fondly remembered for sewing, crafts and being a great cook. She enjoyed her time in the yard and gardening, but most of all time spent with her family. Left to cherish her memory are Lester Bud, her loving husband of 72 years, son Bruce (Jan) Randall of Marshalltown, grandchildren: Nic (Ginna), Luke and Dillon Randall; Shawn (Julie) and Stephanie Hugen, great-grandchildren- Myles, Kade, Eli, Henry, Kelcy and Parker Randall; Jordan, Sage and Keiler Blue and Aidan and Connor Hugen, her brother Fred Van DeWalle of Tama, several nieces and nephews and a special niece Paula Frazier of Van Horn. In death, she rejoined her parents and daughter, Claudia.
