Maxine Ann Willits, 69 of Marshalltown passed away on Monday, June18, 2012 at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center.Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Phone 641-844-1234.Maxine Ann Drummer was born on January 11, 1943 in Wesley, Iowa, she was the daughter of Frank and Viola (Weig) Drummer; she was educated in the area of her birth. On October 15, 1960, Maxine was united in marriage to Robert Willits at St Marys Catholic Church in Marshalltown. Maxine had work as a nurse at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center for many years until her retirement; she and Robert then moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas to enjoy their time together and had recently returned to Marshalltown due to health issues. Maxine enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, and crafting, she always enjoyed all the times with her family and her loving grandchildren, and also loved her 4 legged friends, her dogs.Left to cherish her memory are her husband: Robert of Albion, her children: Debra (William) Thomas of Albion, Michael (JoAnn) Willits of Marshalltown and Lisa (Todd) Branon of Albion, 11 grandchildren: Samantha Rix, Laura Ihde, Daniel Branon Jr., Dazsha Branon, Timothy Thomas, Carlyle Thomas, Adam Thomas, Bobby Thomas, Clint Wedgewood, Ben Wedgewood, Samantha Regalado and 14 great-grandchildren: Matthew Barnhardt, Teagan Barnhardt, Jacob Snider, Sarah Snider, Jane Snider, Sadie Sanderson, Tucker Wedgwood, Leila Wedgwood, Ben Wedgewood Jr., Eathan Thomas, Raylynn Thomas, Hannah Thomas, Brooke Thomas, and Emma Thomas, Maxines siblings: William (Sharon) Drummer of Rockford, Illinois, Shirley (Ken) LaFrenz of Marshalltown and Phyllis Booth of Cedar Rapids.Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Viola, 3 brothers: Dwayne, Don and Dick and an infant sister.
