In June of this year, my sweet sweet girl Meeka was diagnosed with lung cancer. She developed a cough, which eventually got worse as the tumor took over more of her lung capacity. And strangely enough, at about the same time, her back legs and hips became weaker, enough that I eventually carried her in and out, and around in the house. She never acted to be in much pain, but I think sleep was her reprieve from her discomfort. I made the choice that no pet parent ever wants to make, but it was time. This afternoon, with the help of her vet and staff, she passed very peacefully in my arms. Meeka… run free, and when you find daddy, Im sure he’ll have a treat in his pocket. You are so loved, and the house is so quiet…I may never stop crying….
-Lovingly by Mary Jo Seeger
My sincere thanks to everyone that left a heart, hug, prayer or tears and commented regarding the loss of my Meeka. She wasn’t a noisy or boisterous girl, but my house is definitely very quiet. And a big thank you to the Central Iowa Veterinary Services in Melbourne. Dr. Rueber and her staff have always given our pets the best care.
