Megan Oelmann, 49, of Marshalltown, died early Sunday morning, July 11th, at MMSC. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 17th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Born Megan Laurie Halbloom on July 25th, 1960, in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Milton and Merlene (Vickery) Halbloom. She graduated from the Marshalltown High Schools Class of 1979. On July 6th, 1984, she was united in marriage to Rodney Oelmann. To this union, a wonderful son, Connor Russell Oelmann, was born. Megan was employed at the Iowa Veterans Home for 14 years as an RTW Nurses Aid and was often recognized for her faithful, diligent service. She treasured her family, loved cats and day trips. Left to cherish her memory are Rod, her loving husband of 26 years and Connor her 16 year old son, her parents Milton and Merlene Halbloom, siblings Marla Johnson of Marshalltown, Melinda Halbloom of Melbourne and Marc (Andrea) Halbloom of State Center, nieces and nephews: Ruby Perin (John Kulper Olin), Bradley Halbloom, Haley (Andrew) Nichols, Valerie Johnson, Eric Johnson, Jennette Johnson, Kelsiann Halbloom and Alexander Halbloom; Great-nieces and nephews: Kaitlyn Angela Kulper, Madelyn Melinda Kulper, Asher Todd Nichols, Lily Katherine Nichols and Grace Alivia Johnson. Also surviving are Rods family of his dad and step-mom Ray and Donna Oelmann of Beaman, mother and step-father Connie (Bill) Anderson of Springfield, MO, brothers-in-law: Brad and his children Rachel and Katy of Philadelphia, PA, Tim (Lucy) and their children Shelby and Ashley of Indianapolis, Joel (Sunshine) and son Jake of Durham, NC, and Jason (Krista) and their children Grace and Gabby of Springfield, MO. As well as her cats Shadow and Smoky, her Iowa Veterans Home family and co-workers and friends.
