Melanie Kaye Morley passed away on December 6, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Staying true to her wishes cremation rites will be performed. A celebration of life and luncheon will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at the Best Western Conference Room A in Marshalltown, Iowa from 11-5. Memorial may be made to the family. For condolences please visit www.mitchellfh.com or call 641-844-1234. Melanie was born on May 14, 1955 in Marshalltown, Iowa. She graduated from Marshalltown High School with the class of 1973. After her schooling she was united in marriage to Louis Morley 3rd in 1976. The two made their lives in Marshalltown and raised five children. He later passed away on April 11, 1999. She was employed by Elmwood and Tom’s Que & Brew. In her free time she loved to stay busy by reading, crocheting, and making pottery when she was younger. She enjoyed collecting antiques also known as junk to her children. She loved to eat at Zeno’s Pizza with her family. Mel never closed her door to anyone. She did not pass judgement and would do anything for anyone, even if she was mad at you. Left to cherish her memory are her children Myron Eugene Morley, Anna Marie (Tony) Schmitz, Christina Brimson, Carol Morley, and Louis K (Katy) Morley 4th, Jesse Freland, and DonNella Freland; grandchildren: Myron Jr, Haleigh, Michael Morley, Bailey K Black, Alyssa (Domminic) King, Tim Black, Robert Mangano, Madison Mangano, Meryl Schmitz, MaryJane Schmitz, Miale Schmitz, Michael Schmitz, Devon Morley, David VanCannon, Elyssa VanCannon, Biancah Brimson, Brian Brimson, Taylor Morley, Yzabella Morley, Maliq Davis, Haley Reid, Mason Reid, Lucy Morley, Khloe Morley; greatgrandchildren: Scarlet (Tim) Aisley, Sylas, (Alyssa), Gabriel and Nirvana (Devon). Brothers Kenneth VerBeek and Bill Otten, and many nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her husband Louis K Morley 3rd, granddaughter Becca Jo (Christina) her parents Mollie and Myron and her brother Edward “Zip” VerBeek.
