Melvin Forrest

Melvin J. Forrest, 59, of Marshalltown, died on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at Iowa Veterans Home. There will be no services at this time. Cremation rites have been held. For condolences, visit www.mitchellfh.com. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Melvin and his family. Born on Tuesday, December 20, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa, he was the son of the late William Forrest and the late Lola. He received his education at Prairie City and served our country honorably in the United States Navy. Left to mourn his loss are siblings, Arthur Lee, Sandie Brockman, Vallie Stoddard, William Forrest, Robin Kendall and Elly Westphal as well as many nieces/nephews and great nieces/nephews. In death, he has rejoined his parents, sister Donna Stone, niece Page and grandparents.
