Merle Scott Daniel

Merle “Scott” Daniel, 45 passed away on June 6, 2018 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. A memorial service will be held on Sunday June 10, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. For condolences please visit www.Mitchellfh.com or call (641)-844-1234. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to be used at a later date. Scott was born in Marshalltown on March 31, 1973 to the parents of Chet and Margret (Grewell) Daniel. Scott graduated from the Marshalltown High School with the class of 1991. On October 31, 2006 Scott was united in marriage to Jessica Ballard in Marshalltown. The two made their lives in Marshalltown. In Scott’s younger years he enjoyed target shooting and reloading his own ammunition, Scott and his brother Aaron would make their way to the range every Saturday at noon to practice. He also enjoyed fishing in his free time. He loved spending time and playing with his dog Max when he arrived home from working a long day. He was a caring person always thinking of others, when he was told options on his illness, he choose to peruse a trial treatment to help others with the results. Scott will be missed by his family and countless friends. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 12 years, Jessica, siblings: Aaron Daniel, Marleen Crabtree, Terry Daniel, Jan Ege, Shelia Patrick, Sherrill Daniel, Carol Scalf, and Ellen Graff, and his dog Max. Scott is preceded in death by his parents Chet and Margret.
