Michael Eugene McDowell, 54, of Marshalltown, IA passed away on March 31, 2018 at the Iowa River Hospice Home with his family at his side. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Mike and his family. Michael Eugene McDowell was born on November 27, 1963 in Marshalltown, IA to Robert and Elva (Joyce) McDowell. Mike graduated from Marshalltown High School and attended Marshalltown Community College graduating with an AA degree. On August 5, 1998 Mike married Tisha (Hasselmann) McDowell in Las Vegas, NV. Mike had been employed with Lennox Industries for 32 years. He was a member of the UAW Local #893, CERT, Iowa Gun Association and Iowa Snowmobilers. Mike enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley, cooking, camping, playing guitar, mushroom hunting, and spending time with his many friends and family.  Mike will be missed dearly by his wife, Tisha McDowell, of Marshalltown; children: Michael Nathan “Nate” (Amanda) McDowell and Emily (Riley) Theone McDowell Nine; granddaughter: Lydia Ranae McDowell; and brother: Rob McDowell. He is also survived by his mother, Joyce Edwards, and his furry companions, Dazy and Jackson; and many other family and friends. Preceding Mike in death are his father, Robert McDowell; grandparents: Uncle Ray McDowell; Aunt Tink McDowell) and father-in-law, Ed Rowe.
