Born on August 7th, 1951, in Marshalltown, he was the son of Lee Junior and Lois Vivian (Smith) Fisher. He graduated from the Marshalltown High School. While at a dance at the Forrest Park Ballroom, a young Sandra Kay Smith with beautiful red hair caught his eye. A second dance came and the rest is history. The couple was united in marriage on October 4th, 1969, at the Little Brown Church. Mike was a hardworking man who also served our country honorably in the United States Navy submarine division. He and Sandra lived in Marshalltown, Cedar Rapids and lastly, Chelsea. He was employed at the Duane Arnold Energy Plant in Palo until his retirement. He treasured his wife and his family. He enjoyed checking things off his bucket list, time with his best friend/brother, Dan Perkins, going to auctions and flea markets, woodworking, studying history and daily trips to the State Bank of Toledo to see the staff. Left to cherish his memory are Sandra Kay, his loving wife of nearly 53 years, his three children: Tammy Jo (Dennis) Ellenburg of Hillsboro, OR, Rebecca Sue Fisher (Atilano Perez) of Belle Plaine, and Andrew Lee Fisher (Jennifer) of Chelsea; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, his sister Audrey Snyder of Marshalltown and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In death, Mike rejoined his parents, his granddaughter Catherine Blue, niece Melissa Gavagan and sisters- Blanche Draegert, Linda Adams and Katherine Hessenius.
