Michael Lynn Gantz

Michael L. Gantz, 64, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014, at the Iowa Veterans Home. Funeral services for Michael will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at the Iowa Veterans Home Chapel. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, one hour prior to services. He will be laid to rest at the Iowa Veterans Home Cemetery. Gantz was born on January 30, 1950, in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Wilford and Francis Turner (Kuntz) Gantz. He was raised and educated in the Burlington School District. Michael honorably served his country from 1969 thru 1972. He was an avid reader and enjoyed smoking his pipe. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Francis Turner; children: Marilyn Gantz of St. Joseph, MO, and Heather Pirddy of Tulsa, OK; one grandson: Carson Pirddy; one sister: Laura Halladay of Phoenix, AZ; one brother: Bill Gantz of Phoenix, AZ. He was preceded in death by his father, Wilford Earl Gantz.
