Michael Leslie Keen was born March 27, 1947 in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was later adopted by Beryl and Esther (Mahle) Keen alongside one brother. Mike grew up in Le Grand, Iowa and attended school at LDF. He later would graduate from LDF in 1965.
While in school, he met Shirley Biggs and the two fell head over heels in love for each other. They were united in marriage at the First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown on April 22, 1966. From their union they made their home in Marshalltown and began a family of their own raising their two children, Kevin and Kami. In 1976, Mike set off on a business venture that would become Marshalltown RV Center where he specialized in sales and services. Over the years the business had continued success up to this day. He stayed active in the business taking up part-time status and working in the service center to stay busy. There were many family memories, great fishing stories, and lifelong friendships made during their yearly trips to their cabin in Morson Ontario, Canada. What started off as a week or two, turned into 3-4 month-long stays that they always looked forward to each and every summer.
Other things Mike loved to do in his free time were play Crazy Pitch with his card group, golf, and snowmobiling back in the day. His family will remember his love for cooking and say he was an amazing chef. In his younger years, he enjoyed going hunting and he raced stock cars until 1973 .Mike had the knack to be able to fix anything that someone said was not fixable, and loved to help people anytime that he could.
Those left to remember and cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley Keen; his children, Kevin (Melissa) Keen and Kami (Chip) Uhde; grandchildren, Jesse (Cheyenne) Keen, Nolan Keen, Kaci Uhde and Chesni Uhde; one great-grandson Cooper Keen; brother Steve (Mary) Keen and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Beryl and Esther Keen; his mother and father-in-law, Lester and Alberta Biggs and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
