Michael Richard Matney

Michael R. Matney, 59, of Marshalltown, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Michael Richard Matney was born December 2, 1959, to Frank and Bernice Matney.  He graduated from LaQuinta High School in Westminster, California in 1977.  During his younger years, Michael was an outstanding baseball player and bowler.  He moved to Marshalltown in 1993 and worked as a sous chef at the Meskwaki Casino.  He dearly loved to cook and grill. Survivors include his daughter, Kaitlyn (Ryan) Hineman; a soon-to-be granddaughter; brother, Patrick Matney; sister, Melissa McCulley; sister, Caroline Hernandez; brother, Chris Matney and numerous nieces and nephews. In eternal life, Michael is reunited with his parents.
