Michael F. McClintock

Michael McClintock, age 79, of LeGrand, passed away suddenly on Monday morning, May 25th, in the peace of his home.

Born on September 27th, 1946, in Lake City, Iowa, he was the son of Marvin and Maxine (Halverson) McClintock. He graduated from the Lake City High School in 1965 and then ventured to Marshalltown to attend Marshalltown Junior College. While attending school in Marshalltown, he met a young Donna Paul who was working at King Food Host. Their first date was to a movie at the Orpheum Theatre and the rest is history.

The young couple was united in marriage on October 4th, 1968, at the Grace EUB Church in Marshalltown. They made their home in Marshalltown until moving to LeGrand in 1971. Being of a strong work ethic, Mike was employed for Swifts in Marshalltown for 36 ½ years and also Pepsi in Marshalltown for the same amount of time.

From 1966 until 1969, Mr. McClintock served our country honorably in the United States Marine Corps.

Left to cherish his memory are Donna, his loving wife of 57 years; his two sons- Todd (Jill) of Bondurant and Brett (Leslie) of Gladbrook; four precious grandchildren- Sam and Max and Emma and Gage (Sadie); his sister Jane (Bob) Dougherty of Hamilton, IL and brother-in-law Randy Christensen of Manson, Iowa, as well as other family and friends.

In death, Mike rejoined his parents and a sister, Mary Jo.

Per Mike’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 2:00 until time of service, also at the funeral home. As Mike would prefer, please dress casually or in fishing attire.
