Michael Perry

Michael “Mike” Perry, 73, longtime resident of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 22, 2021. Services for Mike will take place on Monday, March 1 at 1:30 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 28 at 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Michael Stewart Perry was born on July 1, 1947 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to parents Kenneth and Ella Jane (Park) Perry. After graduating in 1966 from Marshalltown High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he honorably served from 1966 to 1972. In August of 1991, Mike was united in marriage to Talona Curley. Though they parted ways, they have remained close to each other. Mike worked for Electric Supply in Marshalltown for 22 years, followed by B&B Electric and Hunt Electric. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, camping, playing golf and watching NASCAR. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan and a member of the American Legion. Mike’s family lovingly remembers him as proud and stubborn at times, but with a soft heart and sentimental side. Left to cherish his memory is his son, Michael Perry (Shelby Shipley) of Haverhill; his grandchildren: Kaleb, Jordan, Alexis, Letty and Josh Perry; siblings: Jane (Hugh) Dougal of Marshalltown and Paula (Dayle) Aune of Minnesota; Talona Perry; several nieces and nephews and his beloved long-haired dachshund, Bowinkle. Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Ella Jane; his daughter, Nikki Kluck; brother, Roger Perry; niece, Kailyn Agee and in-laws, Kittie and Bill Curley.
