Michael A. Stangl

Michael Stangl, 55, of the Iowa Veterans Home, formerly of Manning, Iowa, died Thursday morning, December 13th, at the IVH. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 18th, at the Iowa Veterans Home Chapel. He will be laid to rest in the Iowa Veterans Home Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Born on July 1st, 1952, in Carroll, Iowa, he was the son of Arved and Mary Stangl. He graduated from the Manning High School. He served our country honorably and proudly in the United States Air Force in Vietnam. He was employed by the Times-Republican after coming to Marshalltown and has been a resident of the IVH since March of this year. Surviving are his daughters, Stephanie and Samantha, siblings Tom, David, Kathy and Theresa, his special friend and companion Sherry Laughton and his IVH family. In death he has rejoined his parents and brother, John.
