Michael Townsley

Michael Patrick Townsley, age 48, of Marshalltown, passed away in the peace and comfort of his home on the morning of Monday, October 16, 2023 while in care of the Iowa River Hospice.

Memorial services under the direction of the family will be held on Sunday, November 5 at 12:30 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Journey Church in Marshalltown. There will be no visitation. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com.

Born on February 3rd, 1975, in Davenport, Iowa, he was the son of Robert Lee Townsley and Pamela Jean Killen. He received his high school education in Davenport and Los Angeles, CA. He later received four degrees in information technology. His working career focused on computers. His last employment was at Wal-Mart. Mr. Townsley had been attending Journey Church at the time of his passing.

Michael was married to Rochelle and together they were blessed with three children.

Michael enjoyed cooking, music (EDM), his dog Jaxxon and his friend Matt’s dog, Mr. Michael, as well as the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs and Bears. He loved to play his computer and casino games. He also was a Jack of all trades that loved helping others with whatever they needed.

Left to cherish his memory is his girlfriend of 5 ½ years, Jillissa Handorf; five children: Anthony, Corbin, Bailey, Carter, and Lilli; his brother Bobby and sisters Mary, Katherine, Sarah and Carrie; his best friend Matt Faught; along with many other great friends and many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and Jillissa’s family.

In death, Michael rejoined his parents, dog Samson and several friends.
