Mildred Moore

Mildred Viola Moore, 85, of Marshalltown died Thursday, February 19th, 2009 at her home. A celebration of Mildreds life will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 24th at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Bobby Shomo officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be directed to the family. Born Mildred Viola Drew in Marshalltown on January 10th, 1924, she was the daughter of William and Geneva (Stonewall) Drew. Mildred attended school in Marshalltown. She was then united in marriage to Raymond Moore in Princeton, MO. The couple made their home in Marshalltown, where they raised their three children. Mildred worked at Fishers during WWII, and then became a homemaker. She liked crocheting, sewing, ceramics, and enjoying coffee with the neighbors. Mildreds life is celebrated by all who knew her, including her son Roger (Eileen) Moore, her son Roy Moore, her daughter Phylis (Richard) Pantle, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, her brother Richard (Edna) Drew, her sister Sarah Drew, as well as a host of friends. In death, Mildred has rejoined her parents, her beloved husband Raymond (1993), two brothers, and a sister.
