Milo Dvorak, 89, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 29, 2015, at the Iowa Veterans Home, with his loving family by his side. Memorial services for Milo will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2015, at the Iowa Veterans Home Chapel with Chaplain Craig Nelson officiating. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Milo and his family. Milo Dvorak was born on October 1, 1925, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Mary Dvorak. He was raised and educated in the Clutier School District, graduating from Clutier High School. Following high school, Milo honorably served his Country in the United States Navy during World War II, and also served during the Korean Conflict with the United States Army. On June 20, 1966, Milo married Hanne Pedersen in Omaha, Nebraska. They raised a blended family welcoming Alex, Andrew, Harley, and Mariann, and later brought their daughter, Diana into the fold. Milo was employed at Fisher Controls for many years as the office clerk. Milo also owned and operated Dvorak Electric for many years. Milo enjoyed traveling with his wife, Hanneespecially to Minnesota and Wisconsin. Old black and white Westerns topped his favorite movie list, and he treasured his feline companion, Marty. One of Milos favorite activities was going to Meskwaki for the Sunday breakfast buffet, and passing time there with his family. Left to cherish his memory is his wife: Hanne Dvorak; children: Alex Dvorak of Freeport, Illinois, Andrew (Susie) Dvorak of Freeport, Illinois, Harley (DeAnna) Hembd of Phoenix, Arizona, Mariann (Patrick) Duff of Indianola, Iowa, and Diana (David) Stowe of Eldora, Iowa; grandchildren: Megan Stowe, Laura Stowe, Brett McDonald, and Stuart McDonald. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Dvorak Rouso; one sister, Mary Carter; daughter-in-law, Eve Dvorak; mother and father-in-law, Edith and Holger Carlsen.
