Miri Wilson

Pastor Miri Wilson Pastor Miri Wilson, 9 , of Gladbrook, left this world on Thursday August 4, 2016, at the Animal Clinic The Vet from osteo sarcoma. Miri, a Great Dane, was born on March 5, 2009. She worked as the visitation pastor for six years for the Green Mountain UCC and First UCC in Marshalltown. During the last six months she also worked as a therapy dog at Glenwood Place. Miri had a quiet, loving, and gentle soul which allowed even people that were afraid of dogs to find comfort in petting her. She was a frequent visitor at area nursing homes, the Hospice Home, and to homebound parishioners. She regularly attended Bible study at both churches and Saturday afternoon worship where she always slept through the senior pastors sermon. In February of this year she started Miris Emergency Medical Fund at the Animal Rescue League for animals that need medical or surgical care to be adopted. She donated 100% of her salary at Glenwood to this worthwhile charity. Left to cherish the memories of her wagging tail are her parents Rev. Dr. Kim and Madonna Wilson, her sister Jennie Wilson (Jacob) Moore, two nephews, a niece, and countless friends. Memorials can be directed to Miris Medical Emergency Fund at the ARL. Private services will be held at a later date.
