Monica Kramer, 62, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on the morning of Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Unity Point Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, surrounded by friends. Monica Lynn Kramer was born July 11, 1958 in Marshalltown, Iowa to parents Bernard “Bernie” and Martha “Marty” (Abel) Kramer. She attended school in the town which she grew up. Monica graduated from Marshalltown High School in the class of 1976. She went on to attend beauty school where she obtained her cosmetology degree. Monica used her skills as a beautician for a number of years before beginning her career as a CNA and working as the the unit secretary on the second floor of the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center over 20 years. In her free time, she enjoyed trips to Lake Ponderosa with her companion George Sherrell. She was an extremely hard worker and liked to be home when she wasn’t working. Left to remember and cherish her memory are her life companion George Sherrell and her nephew Lucas Dean Kramer. She was preceded in death by her parents Bernie and Marty Kramer; her paternal and maternal grandparents; and her brothers Kent and Brian Kramer.
