Morris Biddle Jr

Morris Warren Biddle Jr., 87, of Marshalltown, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. Memorial services for Morris will be on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown with visitation one-hour prior. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Morris and his family. Morris Biddle, Jr. was born on February 16, 1928, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Morris Warren and Avis Amanda (Hilsabeck) Biddle. Morris served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps until 1945. On September 10, 1949, Morris was united in marriage to Wanda Lee Robinett at the Church of the Nazarene in Marshalltown. Morris had previously worked as a lathe operator at Fishers, a logger, on the railroad, and as a truck driver for the last 40 years. Morris enjoyed hunting, watching western movies, working on vehicles, and fishing. Morris is survived by his children: Morris James (Bonnie) Biddle of Orion, Illinois; Dianne (Jim) Wauters of Elberon; Rose (Jack) Clement of Belle Plaine; Wes (Brenda) Biddle of Grinnell; Doug Biddle of Yankton, South Dakota; and Tim Biddle of Alvarado, Texas. Nineteen grandchildren; forty one great grandchildren; siblings: Glema Corcoran of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, and Peggy Wilson of Oakridge, Oregon; and special friend, Doris (Von) Sherman of Marshalltown. Morris was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda; parents, Morris and Avis; siblings: Leonard, Jesse, and Shirley; and great granddaughter, Tayler Wauters.
