Nancy Benedict

Nancy K. Benedict, 72, of Springfield, NE, formerly of Glenwood, IA, passed away Monday, April 8, 2024 at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. A family-led memorial celebration will take place on Saturday, April 20 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Born Nancy Katholene Hauger on May 8,1951 in Council Bluffs, IA, she was the daughter of Floyd Nelson and Juanita Ruth (Pitman) Hauger. Nancy was united in marriage to Ricky Allen Benedict on December 20, 1984 in Glenwood, IA, where they made their home. Nancy retired from Glenwood State Hospital Schools. In her free time, she enjoyed crafting, including jewelry making, adult coloring and diamond painting. Faith was very important to her. She also enjoyed spending time socializing with family, friends and neighbors over cards, coffee and various games.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Kellie Sue Jones and Rodney Leroy (Paige) Jones; her grandchildren: Appria Newberg, Alli Newberg, Davy Rosas, Kyler Jones, Dylan Rosas, Adin Newberg, Daysha Jones, Catalina Jones and Parker Jones; and great-grandchildren: Makenlee and Maisy.

In death, Nancy is reunited with her beloved husband Ricky, her daughter Kyllie Lynn Rosas and son-in-law Marcos Rosas, son-in-law Michael Newberg, her parents and all of her siblings.
