Nancy Carmer

Nancy Carmer, 55, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on February 19, 2021. Services for Nancy will take place on Friday, February 26 at 11:00 A.M. at First Congregational Church, with Pastor Dan Vellinga officiating. A visitation will be held Thursday, February 25 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for later designation. Nancy Louann Carmer was born April 7, 1965 in Iowa City, Iowa to parents Earl Warren and Dorothy Jean (Walker) Carmer. Nancy graduated from South Tama High School in 1983 and then moved to Marshalltown. She worked at the Iowa Veterans Home in food services for the past 27 years. Nancy was a member of the First Congregational Church. In her free time, she enjoyed watching TV, anything from crime shows to medical dramas and soap operas. Nancy was very caring and generous and would drop anything to help someone. She loved her family and friends very much and enjoyed spending time with them. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Adrianna Goken and Jessica Cox; special daughter, Tera Kibbee; her father, Earl W. Carmer; special grandkids: Konner Wedgwood and Tianna Bea; siblings: Warren (Norlene) Carmer, Rick (Julie) Carmer, Earl L. Carmer, Bonnie (Jim) Bunting and special sister, Sheri Kibbee; sister-in-law, Joyce Carmer; foster parents: Barbara Aikin and Nancy and Bob Airhart; best friend, Tana Johnson and many, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Nancy is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy; her siblings: Brenda Carmer, Mary (Jim) Kibbee and Jack Carmer and her foster father, Keith Aikin.
