Nancy Cooper

Nancy Cooper, 65, of Marshalltown passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at her daughter’s home. Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at Best Western Regency Inn, 3303 S Center Street in Marshalltown on October 13th at 1:00 PM. Memorials may be directed to the family. Nancy was born on October 25, 1953 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of John H. Gunning and Mary Lois (Baker) Gunning. Nancy graduated class of 1972 from Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids and later earned her Bachelor’s degree from Mount Mercy University. Nancy worked for JBS for 19 years and retired in 2015. She enjoyed fundraising, selling Easter baskets for Relay for Life, making jewelry, antiquing, and working on home improvement projects. She particularly loved the time she was able to spend with her family and friends. She truly enjoyed life.Around 2007, Nancy began creating her own jewelry and selling it to friends. Shortly after, she began selling her creations at craft shows and festivals. This became her home business; Kooperz Kreationz. It grew to include rings, charms and slider jewelry. Nancy was very proud of Kooperz Kreationz, as were her friends and family. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. She is survived by her children April (Chris Suby) Cooper and Trisha (Christopher) Wilder; grandchildren Stephen, Edward, Samantha, Brandon, Gillian, Latisha, and Devin; brother Jim (Desi); sisters Judy (David) and Mary (Chris); seven nieces and nephews; and her four-legged furry companion, Jazz.
