Nancy Moon

Nancy Ann Moon, 75, of rural Marshalltown, died Sunday, April 25, 2010, at home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2010, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April, 28, 2010, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. Phone 641-844-1234.Born Nancy Ann Olson, she was the daughter of Theodore and Oma Maxine (Allgood) Olson. Nancy attended Legrand Consolidated High School Class of 1952. She had lived in rural Marshalltown most of her life. Nancy had worked at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center retiring after 25+ years. She loved her family, enjoyed her garden, liked to read, collect bird houses, bird feeders and antiques, and also Wizard of Oz memorabilia. She also enjoyed working on puzzles and garage sales. Nancy was always very proud of her Norwegian heritage and her family farm.Left to cherish Nancys memories are her companion of 30 years Dave Cox, her children: Marilyn Buchwald (Scott Sutherland) of Marshalltown, Susan (Rex) Krough of rural Marshalltown, Deb Buchwald of Marshalltown, Hoss (Jill) Tompkins of Beaman, Kathy Lyons of Toledo, and Stacy Fulster (Larry Melton) of Lincoln Iowa, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.In death, Nancy rejoins her father, her brother James Olson and her granddaughter Emma Tompkins.
