Nancy Shaw

Nancy Kay Shaw, 55, of Marshalltown died Saturday, October 17th, 2009 at the Iowa River Hospice House, with her loving family at her side. A celebration of Nancys life will be held at 1:00p.m. Friday, October 23rd at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be 5-7p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Nancy and her family, phone 641-844-1234. Born Nancy Kay Holubar in Marshalltown on May 1st, 1954 to parents Max Gene and Doris (Batesole) Holubar. Nancy attended Marshalltown schools, graduating in 1972. On November 21st, 1972 Nancy was united in marriage to James Jim Shaw at the 1st Baptist Church in Marshalltown. The couple made their home in Marshalltown, where Nancy was employed by the Credit Bureau of Marshalltown for 26 years. She was then employed as a Marshall County Clerk of Court for the last 5 years. Nancy was a member of the YMCA, she enjoyed motorcycling with her husband Jim, water-skiing, gardening, her four dogs and spending time with friends and family. Nancy was a courageous woman who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Left to celebrate Nancys life, and mourn their loss is herparents Gene and Doris, her brothers: Mark (Connie) Holubar of Kemp, TX, Barry (Ellen) Holubar of Buffalo Grove, IL, and Terry Holubar of Marshalltown; 1 niece and 4 nephews; her dogs Sheba, Vejjo, Emme, and Pypr; as well as many relatives and friends. Nancy will be especially missed by her loving husband Jim. In death, Nancy has rejoined her grandparents Honey and Grandpa Batesole; her cousin Kraig Batesole; and her uncles: Hal Batesole, Wayne Fouts, and Porky Mayer.
