Nathan Nate Moody, 84, of Marshalltown, passed away at his home on November 4, 2017. Funeral services for Nate will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be prior to the service; starting at 12:00 p.m. The family requests that you dress casual. Memorials may be directed to the family. Nathan Moody was born on October 3, 1933 in Mayo, Florida to Osceola O. and Sally Mae Trueluck Moody. Nate served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1956. On October 16, 1959, Nate was united in marriage to Bonnie Jean Prescott in Marshalltown. Nate had moved to Marshalltown to enroll in Telegraphy school and met Bonnie at the Tic Toc Diner. Nate enjoyed treasure hunting and using his metal detector. He also liked listening to Nate is survived by his children: Gladys (Rich) Charlton of Marshalltown, Linda (Phil) Wallen of Green Mountain, Patricia (James) Lemaster of Marshalltown, Mary Moody of Marshalltown and Steve (Sally) Moody of Marshalltown. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and his special neighbors, Terry and Beth Anson, Carolyn and Bob Koeller, Pat Pistorico and good friends, Gary and Jeri Weitzell. Nate has rejoined his wife, Bonnie in death. He is also preceded in death by his parents Osceola and Sally as well as his brothers, Melvin, Frank and Mitch.
