Newa 'Fran' Logsdon

Newa Frances Logsdon, 89, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed into the presence of the Lord and into the arms of her beloved husband on Sunday, December 6, 2015, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. Memorial services for Fran will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Iowa Veterans Home Chapel in Marshalltown. Burial will follow the services at Riverside Cemetery. Fran was born to Homer and Ethel Kent in Marshalltown on June 27, 1926. She married Victor J. Logsdon of Colfax, Iowa on July 26, 1941 and they had two sons. Although they moved around, they always returned to call Marshalltown home. Fran, Vic and their son Rick were real estate brokers for years owning Logsdon Realty Company on State Street in Marshalltown. Later, Fran managed apartment complexes in Des Moines and Marshalltown. Mrs. Logsdon is survived by her two sons and their spouses, Rick (Kathy) Logsdon of Papillion, Nebraska; Ronald (Jona) Logsdon of Lutz, Florida; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild and brother-in-law: Melvin Carter of Marshalltown. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister: Ruth (Menter) Carter of Marshalltown and grandchild: Austin W. Logsdon
