Norma Jean Coop

Norma Jean Coop, age 66, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away peacefully at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.

As per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and no formal services are scheduled at this time. Norma and her family are under the care of the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Norma Jean was born June 15, 1957, in Marshalltown, Iowa. Her proud parents were Donald and Frances Darlene (Gard) Schmidt. She attended Marshalltown High School and graduated with the class of 1975. On November 16, 1978, Norma married the love of her life, Anthony Wayne Coop. She dedicated her life to being a loving homemaker. Yellow rose bushes were her favorite and she enjoyed doing crafts with her hands. Family was very important to Norma, and she especially loved to spoil her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Anthony W. Coop; her three sons: Michael Coop of Marshalltown, Justin Coop of Florida, and Jonathan Coop of State Center; her grandchildren: Nichelle, Alyssa, Paul Michael, Trier, Tesany, Aiden and Jenny; her great-grandson Hudson Gene; her mother Frances Darlene and her two favorite fur babies.

Norma is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, her father Donald Schmidt and her sister Margaret.
