Norma Jean Nall, 91, of Melbourne, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at her home and under the care of the Iowa River Hospice Home.

Norma Jean Swanson was born on January 4, 1934 in Lucas, Iowa. She was the daughter of Oscar and Maggie (Royal) Swanson. She was the youngest of 4 sibling brothers. Jean graduated from Lucas High School. In 1960, she was united in marriage to Webb Nall at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. One of Jean’s first jobs was a telephone switch operator in Des Moines. She had also previously worked for Goodyear in Marshalltown. Webb and Jean moved the family out to Ogden, Utah in 1979. While in Utah, Jean worked and retired from Fresenius Medical. Jean and Webb moved back to Melbourne, Iowa in 2011. Jean enjoyed fishing, cooking, shopping, housework, fast cars and tending to her flowers. She was a fantastic cook and known for her specialty Sausage Bread. Jean loved her family and was fiercely protective of them. She was honest and direct. She loved her cats, dogs, birds and squirrels. Jean was a wonderful mother, wife and friend. She will be greatly missed.
Jean is survived by her children: Tully (Kathy) Nall, Scott (Renae Smith) Nall and Darren Berens. Grandchildren: Danial (Mike) Selin, Derek Nasfell, Jennifer Nall, Kaleigh Nall and Zachary Nall, Shannon O’Neal and Shay O’Neal. She is also survived by her son-in-law: Rod O’Neal; daughters in-law: Kathy Nall, Renae Nall; sisters-in-law: Karen Nall, Sherry Nall, Shellie Nall and Irene Sarver.
Jean is preceded in death by her husband Webb Nall; daughter: Sharon O’Neal; parents: Oscar and Maggie Swanson and brother-in-law: Ed Nall.
