Norma (Wayne) Somers, 91, lifelong resident of Green Mountain, was called to her heavenly home early in the morning of Saturday, November 5th, 2016. Funeral services for Norma will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Marty Mitchell officiating. Public visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 7, 2016, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home where Normas family will be present to greet friends. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Norma and her family. Born Norma Kelley on May 14th, 1925, at the family home west of Green Mountain, she was the daughter of Floyd and Ruth (Murty) Kelley. She attended and graduated from the Green Mountain High School. On May 29th, 1943, she was united in marriage to Wayne Somers in Yuma, AZ. They made their home in Green Mountain all of their married lives and were blessed with four children: Craig, Pamela, Vicki and Jeffrey. Norma was a member of the Green Mountain United Church of Christ. Left to honor her memory are Wayne, her loving husband of 73 years; three children: Craig (Peg) Somers of Marshalltown, Pamela de Silva of Beaman and Jeff (Bonnie) Somers of Green Mountain; many dear grandchildren and precious great grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In death she rejoined her parents, Floyd and Ruth; her daughter, Vicki Watson; great granddaughter, Mackenzie Lown; sisters, Hazel Bonham, Lillian Somers and Marilyn Rudy; brother, Bill Kelley; nephew, Douglas Rudy; niece, Frances Sternhagen; and great niece and nephew, Abbey and Gerrad Sternhagen.
