Norman A. Anderson, 43, of Laurel, died Wednesday, August 12, 2009, due to injuries sustained in a car accident.Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Monday, August 17, 2009, at St. Marys Catholic Church. Burial will be at a future date. Visitation will be on Sunday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. He was the son of Lyman Eric and Jean (Sand) Anderson. He went to school at Corpus Christi in Fort Dodge and graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1984. He attended MCC, Wayne State College in Wayne, NE, and received his Bachelor of Arts in Finance Management from the University of Northern Iowa. On November 20, 1991, Norman married Lana Elliott at the United Church of Christ in Gilman. The couple lived in Marshalltown and Laurel.Norman worked as a farm hand for John Wilson, Lowes Flowers, Swifts as a general accountant, and Emerson for the last 10 years. He was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church. He enjoyed his wife and children, gardening, flower gardening, watching his kids sporting events, and sports in general.Norman will be missed by his wife, Lana, of Laurel; his 7 children, Brett(17), Alexa(15), Noah(12), Elijah(9), and Riley(3), all of Laurel, his stepson, Andrew(Krystle) Doll of Hawaii and granddaughter, Brook; and son Max Droste of Germany; his brothers and sisters, Sonia(Dick) Cepel of Kearney, NE, Greg(Anne) Anderson of Poqouson, VA, Marcia Bradley of Des Moines, Kipp(Ethel) Anderson of Stillwell, KS, Dorene Rusk of Creston, IA, and Brian(Angela) Anderson of Laurel; his in-laws, George and Marilyn Elliott of Laurel; his sisters-in-law, Lisa(Karl) Alspach of Buford, GA, and Lori Edwards of Haverhill; his brother-in-law, Loni Elliott of Laurel; and tons of nieces, nephews, and cousins.In death, he has rejoined his parents, Lyman and Jean Anderson, and his grandparents.
