Ollie Earl Reno, 81, of Marshalltown, died at his winter vacation home on Saturday, February 2, 2013, in Sun City, Arizona. Following cremation, memorial services for Ollie will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 22, 2013, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Ollie and his family.Ollie was born June 16, 1931, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Louis Vance Reno and Gladys Lounsberry Mills. He was raised and educated in Marshalltown, graduating from Marshalltown High School in 1948. Ollie honorably served his country as a member of the United States Army from August 1951 until receiving his honorable discharge in August 1953. On April 16, 1954, in Blue Earth, Minnesota, he was united in marriage to Katheryn Brooks.They made their home in Marshalltown all of their married lives. Throughout his career Ollie was employed at Boss Truck Line, Marshalltown then CRST Cedar Rapids where he was a truck mechanic & tire specialist. Ollie enjoyed the outdoors, nature, and wildlife, spending time with family and friends, and following sports and politics. In his retirement he enjoyed traveling, spending winters in Sun City, Arizona, and going to casinos. He was a member of the American Legion, Post #729.Ollie is survived by his wife: Katheryn Brooks Reno Marshalltown, Iowa, his children: Susan (Jerry) Reno VanHoutan of Jonesville, Michigan, Sandra Reno, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Linda (Loyd) Reno Ceaser of Coupeville, Washington, Kellie (Glen) Reno Rohrs of Marshalltown, Iowa, his grandchildren: Jeffrey Gragg, Jason Malisch, Jeremy McStockard, Marissa McStockard, Jacob Downs, Sarah Downs-Aswegan, his 8 step-grandchildren, his 20 Great and Step-Great Grandchildren, and his sister, Bessie (Will) Stoelk of Wilton Junction, Iowa.Ollie was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Vance Reno and John Mills, both of Marshalltown.
