Pamela Arment

Pamela Arment, 66, of Marshalltown, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2012 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown surrounded by her family.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to Iowa River Hospice Home or to the family. Phone 641-844-1234.Pamela Kay Knight was born on March 11, 1946; she was the daughter of George and Marie (DeLawyer) Knight. Pam attended school in the Marshalltown School District graduating with the class of 1964; she then attended MCC getting her Associates Degreeand then on to University of Northern Iowa. On November 18, 1967 Pam was united in marriage to Dennis Arment at the Elim Lutheran Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. She and Dennis lived their entire married life in Marshalltown. After they were married Pam worked at Fisher Controls, she then stayed at home to raise her family. Pam was then a lunch lady at Hoglan School for 17 years where she loved and adored the children. Pam always enjoyed sewing for her kids; she loved to cook and bake in which she was excellent, she was known for her peanut brittle which she had learned to make with her TTT group; she put up with Denniss camping, always making the best of it and for the past several years she and Dennis enjoyed wintering in Texas, making many dear friends. The most important things in life to Pam were her husband, children and grand-children. Pam had been a member of TTT, Anson PTA, and enjoyed her time as chaperone for the Iowa Skippers. Pam will be remembered for her ability to make friends easily; she loved to visit and socialize with others.Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 44 years, Dennis, and her children: Chad (Sunni) Arment of Shelton, Washington, Jodi (David) Gabor of Norton, Ohio and Ryan (Calli) Arment of Marshalltown, Pams precious grand-children: Andrew, Alex, Chase, Cierra, Skyler, Kaylyn, Charlie, Lizzie and Emelia, her Mother, Marie Knight, her siblings: Linda Knight of Virginia, Allan Knight of Marshalltown, father-in-law Gerald Arment of Grinnell, Iowa,sister-in-law, Linda (Gary) Hunter of Ohio, brother-in-law, Virgil (Lori) Arment of Wyoming, many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.In death, Pam rejoins her father George and her mother-in-law, Anna Arment.
