Pamela Kay Kusserow

Pamela Kay Kusserow, 55, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away peacefully with her husband and children by her side at the Iowa River Hospice Home. She had a long courageous battle with cancer, but was determined and positive through her journey. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Marshalltown, Iowa at 10:00 a.m. A public visitation will be held on Monday October 15, starting at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. also at Trinity Lutheran Church. Memorials can be directed to Iowa River Hospice of Marshalltown, or the University of Iowa Cancer Center.  The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Pamela and her family.   Pam was born on December 8, 1962, in Marshalltown, Iowa to Raymond Erlewine and Karen Jo (Steuhm) Erlewine. Pam was a graduate of Marshalltown High School with the class of 1981. Pam married the love of her life, Roger on April 17, 1982 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshalltown. From this marriage they had 2 children, Kyle and Sara. Pam was employed with MMSC for 33 years and most recently with the city of Marshalltown she enjoyed all the friends and memories that were made. She loved to travel every year to Minnesota for a fishing trips. Her love of travel took her on many cruises, Alaska being her favorite. She would never turn down a trip to the bright lights of Vegas. Ultimately her focus was her family, her children and grandchildren always came first, she did not want to miss out on any of their activities. Pam just loved being surrounded by her loved ones; nothing made her days better than seeing her kids and grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 36 years Roger, children: Kyle (Lindsay) Kusserow of Marshalltown and Sara (Jared) Daggett also of Marshalltown. Grandchildren: Caleb, Ava, Jordyn, and Madisyn. Her siblings: Darren Smith, Brad Erlewine, and Mike Sanders. Parents: Karen (Gary) Myers of Marshalltown, Raymond (Pat) Erlewine of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, and Mother-in-law Nancy Kusserow of Marshalltown. Also many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her step-father Larry Smith and her father-in-law Dean Kusserow.
