The world lost a loving person Wednesday, December 3, 2014. Patricia (Patty) Beem joined her savior, Jesus Christ at the home of her niece under the care of Iowa River Hospice. To honor Pattys life, services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2014, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, with Pastor Bobby Shomo officiating. Visitation time for family and friends will be prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 pm at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Patty was born April 7, 1945, in San Bernardino, CA to Harry and Marsha (Mills) Frisbie. She attended Marshalltown High School. She was married to Norman (Butch) Beem in 1961 and later they divorced. They had two children, Marci Gehl and Michael Beem. In 1995, she married David Beem in Denver, Colorado. Patty touched the lives of anyone she came into contact with. She made everyone smile with the twinkle she had in her eyes. Through the years she had many employment opportunities. She worked as a cook at Monicas Soup on the Loop and at Steffensens. She also was employed by Haleys. Most recently, she provided cleaning services for private residences. She not only cleaned her clients homes, but she became a part of their family. Left to cherish her memory includes her husband, David Beem of Marshalltown: children, Marci (William) Gehl, and Michael Beem, both of Denver, Colorado; Step-children, Hannah Weir, and Adam Beem, both of Marshalltown. Grand-children, Eddie Clendening, Cory Clendening, Samuel Gehl, Tristan Weir, Makaela Beem, Makensie Beem, and Makenna Beem; sister, Barbara (Fred) Fehrmann of Marshalltown and Ray Brown of Loomis, CA; and several nieces and nephews. She also thought of her nieces Tami (Sandor) Toszegi and Michele (Rick) Earley as her daughters. Preceding her in death are her parents, brother Landis Shaw, and sister Carol Sue Frisbie.
