Patricia Ann Edwards, 74, of Gladbrook, died at home on Thursday, April 14, 2011 surrounded by her loving family.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 18, 2011, at Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2011, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Phone 641-844-1234.Patricia Ann Wilkinson was born on March 17, 1937, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Francis and Irene (McCallistar) Wilkinson. She attended Tama schools, graduating with the class of 1955 and then attended Marshalltown Community College in Marshalltown. On February 12, 1956, Patricia married Lyle Edwards at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tama, Iowa. Patricia and Lyle had lived in Tama for 13 years, Marshalltown for 10 years, and the rest of their married lives in Gladbrook. Pat had worked at King Tower, Marshall Caf and Jacks Beefburger in Tama. She then worked at Elmwood Country Club and KIOWA in Marshalltown. Pat and Lyle had been the owners of Happy Time Lounge in Gladbrook, and she had worked at the Lincoln Inn in Lincoln. She then drove a school bus for Gladbrook schools, and the last few years she had worked at Meskwaki Casino. Pat had been in the National Honor Society in High School, was a member of the Local UAW #893 and a member of the Democratic Committee. She loved her family and enjoyed all of them. She liked playing on the computer, crocheting, crossword puzzles, sewing, loved to travel, loved to fish, and had a lot of musical talent and always enjoyed listening to orchestra music.Left to cherish Patricias memory is her husband of 55 years, Lyle (Pete) Edwards of Gladbrook, her children: Michael (Angela) Edwards of Gladbrook, Mariann (Steve Frye) Darter of Marshalltown, Andrew (Robin) Edwards of Grundy Center, Thomas (Kim) Edwards of Mc Pherson, Kansas, Rodney Edwards of St. Louis, Missouri, and Joseph (Gina Love) of Farber, Missouri, 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, step-brothers: Mike Phares of Branson, Missouri and Dan Phares of Seattle, Washington.She was preceded in death by her parents Francis and Irene, brother Virgil De Hoet and son Stephen at birth.Patricia will be greatly missed by her husband, her family and friends and her dog Ernie.
