Patricia Finch

Patricia Ann (Collins) Finch, 87, of Marshalltown, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St Mary Catholic Church in Marshalltown. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with a vigil at 5:30 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Patricia and her family. Patricia Ann Collins was born on August 23, 1931 in Marshall County to Earl and Callista Lang Collins. Pat or “Tyke”, as she was also referred to by her family, graduated from St Mary’s High School in 1949. She worked for the Iowa Veterans Home in dietary. Pat was a member of St Mary Catholic Church and the Bird Club. She also was a member of “Birthday Club” and loved playing 500. Pat is survived by her children, Beth Plaehn of Marshalltown and Theresa (Mike) Prusha of Lakeville, Minnesota; grandchildren: Brian Luse, Melinda (Shane) Brown, Dennis (Danielle) Plaehn, Tiffany Plaehn, Angela Plaehn, Andrew (Janelle) Prusha and Emily Prusha (Kris Brown). She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; sister, Barb Freland of Marshalltown and brother- in-law Jack Sharer of Marshalltown; and many nieces and nephews. Pat is preceded in death by her daughter Christine Finch; son David Finch; parents Earl and Callista; son-in-law Jerry Plaehn; and siblings: Maxine Randall, Helen Halverson, Rita Drummer, Bud Collins, Louie Collins, Jo Brueshoff, Jean Sharer and Mick Collins.
