Patricia Linhart

Patricia Ruth (Lapour) Linhart, 89, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on the morning of Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at Hawkeye Care Center with her loving family by her side. Funeral services for Patricia will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 16, 2017, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Shomo officiating. Public visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Memorial contributions may be directed in Patricias name to Marshalltown Animal Rescue League. She was the daughter of Alzoe (Vecera) Lapour and Leonard Lapour Sr. She was born September 17, 1927 on the family farm near Dillion, Iowa. She was the youngest to be born of six children. She went to grade school in Dillon then went to LeGrand High School and graduated in 1946. She worked as a housekeeper and babysitter for a few families in the LeGrand area. She then went to Marshalltown and helped raise three children of a school teacher. She also helped her parents on the farm. Later she became a Welcome Wagon hostess welcoming new families and babies to the community. She married Wesley Linhart from Clutier, Iowa on June 25, 1952 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. From this union two children were born: Rebecca and Craig. Left to cherish Patricias memory is her husband Wesley of 64 years; daughter: Rebecca Linhart (Frank), of Des Moines, IA and daughter-in-law: Teresa Carcelen Linhart of Millbrae, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Alzoe LaPour as well as Fred and Julia Linhart; four brothers: Eugene, Leonard Jr., Harold, and twin brother Paul; one sister: Ester and her son: Craig.
