Pat Oetker 77, of West Haven Community in Boone, Iowa formerly of Marshalltown, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday April 24, 2013at St. Henrys Catholic Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 23,2013,from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Serviceat the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Phone 641-844-1234. Patricia F. Hines was born on September 26, 1935 in Marshalltown, Iowa; she was the daughter of Donavon and Margaret Jane (Bryant) Hines. Pat attended school in the Montour Community School District graduating with the class of 1953. On August 18, 1956 Pat was united in marriage to Merlin Oetker at St Marys Catholic Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. Pat had worked at Fareway and Fisher Controls and Quinn Lawn and Leisure and retired in 1989. Pat had been a member of St Marys Catholic church in Marshalltown ,Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Boone and the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, loved to watch her soap operas, the Cubs and the Hawkeyes and during the harvest of the garden her canner was always full, she loved to cook and will be remembered as a great cook and her fried chicken. Pat had a great love for her family and always was looking after others. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 56 years, Merlin(Mick) of Boone. Sons: Gregory(Mary) Oetker and Jeffrey(Peggy) Oetker all of Marshalltown, Iowa and Grand children:, Zach Oetker of Ankeny; Dustin Amans of Cedar Fall, Iowa; Jeremy Amans of Marshalltown, Iowa and Cassie Amans of Miami, Florida and Pats siblings: Beverly(Ron) Davis of Marshalltown, Iowa and James(Gretchen) Hines of Montour, Iowa. In death Pat rejoins her parents, Donavon and Margaret.
