Patricia "Pat" Smock

Pat Smock, age 78, of Tama, Iowa, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026, in the comfort of her home under the care of UPH Hospice.

Patricia Ann Morgan was born on March 17, 1948, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Jack and Alice (Oehlert) Morgan. She grew up in the Gladbrook community and proudly graduated with the class of 1966. In November 1973, Pat married the love of her life, Jim Smock, and together they welcomed two sons into their family. Patricia was a devoted homemaker and a jack‑of‑all‑trades, always willing to take on whatever work was needed. Over the years, she worked as a bartender, provided home health care, mowed yards, and sorted corn for the Pioneer Company. In her free time, Patricia loved going for walks—often with her dogs by her side—golfing, attending fish fries, enjoying movies, and keeping up with her favorite soap operas. She also enjoyed playing cards and was an avid bowler. Above all, she treasured every moment spent with her family.

Pat is survived by her son, Jamie (Vanessa) Smock of Sully, IA.; her granddaughter Greenlee Smock; her sister Debra Morgan of Lampasas, TX.; her niece Tonya (Brett) Branan of Tama, IA.; her special nephews: Vincent (Savannah), Haydin, Eligh, and Waylon Branan; and her best friend Peggy Hansen of News Sharon, IA.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jim Smock; her parents: Jack and Alice; her son Shane Smock; and her brother Gary Morgan.
