Patricia Von Spreecken

Patricia “Pat” Von Spreecken, 91, of Toledo, Iowa, passed away April 4, 2023 at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama.

Per the wishes of Pat and her family, cremation rites have been accorded. A visitation celebrating the life of Pat will take place on Thursday, April 13 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Christ United Methodist Church in Toledo. She will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery. Pat was born on January 8, 1932 at her maternal grandparents’ home in Toledo. She was the youngest daughter of Victor “Lloyd” and Lillie (Jackson) Palmer. Pat was Valedictorian of the class of 1950 at Toledo High School.

Pat was united in marriage to Ross Von Spreecken on February 4, 1951 at the First United Methodist Church in Toledo. After marriage, she was employed as a secretary at Hyland and Morris Law Firm in Tama. In the 1970s, Pat was a CPA at Mosebach, Griffith and Co., also in Tama. Pat enjoyed singing with local groups, playing Bridge and other games, quilting, gardening and church activities.

Pat is survived by daughter, Wendy Von Spreecken of Toledo and son, Scott (Cathy) Von Spreecken of Lansing, MI; grandchildren: Kristin Von Spreecken, Victoria (Aaron) Jones, Peter (Austyn) Von Spreecken and great-grandsons Henry and Hudson, all of Lansing, MI area; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Ross, sisters Twila McCollister and Wynona Mason.
