Patty Lee Hansen

Patty Lee Hansen, 77, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away at Villa del Sol Nursing Home on Saturday January 17, 2015 surrounded by her family, under the loving care of Iowa River Hospice. Cremation rites have been accorded and memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to the family for later designation. Patty Lee Atchison was born in Iowa City, Iowa, to Arthur and Eva Atchison on June 13, 1937. She attended schools in Tama and graduated from Toledo High School. In 1956, Patty was united in marriage to Raymond Alkire. To this union, three children were born: Jamie, Jody, and Valerie. They later divorced. Patty married Adrian Doyle and together they had one daughter, Heidi Doyle. They later divorced. Pattys career in the restaurant industry began as a teenager at Dicks Restaurant in Toledo. She later managed King Tower Restaurant in Tama and the Double-D-Restaurant as well as many different establishments in Marshalltown. Patty loved watching the Green Pay Packers, dancing, playing cards and bingo. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and church on Sunday. Patty is survived by one son, Jamie (Linda) Alkire of St. Augustine, Florida; and three daughters: Jody State, Valerie Alkire, and Heidi Doyle, all of Marshalltown, Iowa; Grandchildren: Skylar State of Texas, heather State, Brandon (Casey)Thorn, and Keaton Thorn, all of Marshalltown, and Angela Keiser of St. Augustine, Florida; great-grandchildren: Alayna Nicole Thorn and Tyler Bleseeker; brother, John (Elaine) Atchison of Post Falls, Idaho; sisters: Rachel Coye of Newton, Mary Chyma of Toledo, and Donna Brower of Bettendorf; sister-in-law, LaRue Atchison of Toledo; brother-in-law, Chuck Skarda of Toledo; and many nieces and nephews. Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Eva Atchison; brothers: Arnold Atchison, Robert Atchison, and Norman Bud Atchison; sisters: Lorraine Vore and Bonnie Skarda; and special friend, Robert Crossman.
