Paul "Terry" Barnard

Paul “Terry” Barnard, 79, of Marshalltown, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. Cremation rites will be accorded and there are currently no services scheduled at this time. Memorials may be directed to the family for designation at a later time. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Terry and his family.   Paul Terry Barnard was born on January 18, 1939 in Marshalltown to Gibson and Charlotte (Wilson) Barnard. He graduated with the Marshalltown High School Class of 1956. Terry served his county honorably in the United States Navy. He had previously been united in marriage to Barbara Meling and they later divorced. To that union, Todd was born. He had also been united in marriage to Farida Wright and later divorced, and to that union, Jon and Wendy were born. On July 30, 1982, Terry was united in marriage to Irma Jean Janssen in Marshalltown and to this union Nathan was born. Terry and Irma have resided in Marshalltown all of their married life together. Terry was employed for many years at Fisher Control and Iowa Wholesale Supply and he enjoyed fishing and traveling.   Left to mourn his loss is his wife of 36 years, Irma of Marshalltown and children: Nathan Barnard of Waterloo, Jon Barnard of Des Moines, Wendy (Dale) Heisch of Euless, Texas and Todd Grothe of Michigan. He is also survived by his sisters, Jean Clemons of Apopka, Florida, Jan (Randy) Tegtmeier of Apopka, Florida and four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.   In death, he has rejoined his parents.
