Paula McNew, 82, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the home of her daughter in Montour, Iowa surrounded by her family and under the care of Iowa River Hospice.A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Saint Marys Catholic Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 24, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil at theMitchell Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the family. Phone 641-844-1234.Paula Louise Hudspeth was born on September 16, 1930 in Grundy County at home; she was the daughter of Paul Isaac and Helen Marguerite (Smith) Hudspeth. Paula attended school in Marshalltown, graduating from St. Marys High School with the class of 1948. In 1975 Paula was united in marriage to Dale McNew, they made their home in Marshalltown. She had worked at Marshall County Care Facility as a Physical Therapist Aide for 27 years. Paula had been a member of St Marys Catholic Church in Marshalltown, she loved being a Foster Grandparent at Bright Beginnings Daycare, Head start and at Elim Lutheran Day Care and always enjoyed going out with friends, but the most important thing was her family, siblings, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Left to cherish her memory are her children: Peggy Sandven of Arizona, Sherry (Mark Easley) Roseburrough and Connie Schlosser both of Marshalltown and Trisha (Tim) Dolezal of Montour, Iowa, her grandchildren: Jay, Rochelle, Tate, Tad, Trenton, Michelle, Jennae, Bret, Ryan, Amber, BreAnna, Logan and 20 great-grand-children, her siblings: Dolores (Gerald) Barker of Arizona, Jerald (Mary Kay) Hudspeth of Montana, Kathleen Winn of Arizona and sister-in-law,Joyce Hudspeth of Iowa.Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Marguerite, her husband, Dale McNew, son, Richard Schlosser and three daughters in infancy, Paula Sue, Lynn Marie and Mary Beth and a brother, Kenneth Hudspeth.
