Pauline Bane, 84, of Marshalltown, died Sunday night, January 12, 2014, at the Villa del Sol while in the loving care of her family and Iowa River Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2014, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Bethel Grove Cemetery near Liscomb. Born Pauline Fisher on October 12, 1929, in Fairbault, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Lee and Lois Fisher. She attended the Marshalltown Public Schools. Pauline was employed for many years at Dunham-Bush and was a member of the UAW Local #893 retirees. She enjoyed going to the casino, playing cards, cooking, baking, and spending time with her babies- the great-grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Donald (Sherry) Shapley, and Jackie Warden of Marshalltown, and Sue Shapley of New Providence; Stepchildren: Ron (Pam) Bane, and Bobby (Stacy) Bane; her grandchildren: Tina (Alex) Shapley Gardea of Marshalltown, Paula (Matt) Ward of New Providence, Chrissy (Scott) Melohn of McComb, Ilinois, Shelly (Clint) Flaig of Waverly, Randy (Wendy) Warden of Pleasant Hill, Kim Wells and Donny Shapley, Jr.; 14 great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In death, Pauline rejoined her parents; son, Lloyd Kroeger, Jr.; two sisters, six brothers, and step-daughter, Donna Stansberry.
